The songs and music of Gershwin, Cole porter, Jerome Kern, Irving Berlin, Rogers and Hart and many others from the golden period of songwriting.

An opportunity to hear the great artists of the past from opera, operetta, lieder, music hall etc.

Exploring perspectives in opera, examining well-known as well as neglected operatic gems

Many of us learned the recorder at school--now you can have another go!  Some recorders provided or bring your own.

MUSIC: SINGING FOR PLEASURE  Fridays 10.25 - 11.45

A choral group.  Work ranging from folk songs and madrigals to operatic and oratorio choruses.  Experience not necessary.

MUSIC: SWINGTIME  Wednesdays 11.30 - 12.35

Revisit the '30s and 40's.  Listen and discuss the Big Bands, their vocalists and small groups

MUSIC WORKSHOP  Thursdays 18.30 - 21.00

String Chamber Music Workshop.  We meet to play quartets or occasionally quintets etc.- Haydn, Mozart, Dvorak, Brahms -  or even Shostakovich.

A group for people who love the theatre and enjoy reading parts.  No experience needed.  A chance at being an actor for an hour.

The group chooses from a variety of the best plays from around the world to read aloud.

We decide on a theme for each week and members bring a poem for reading and discussion.
