ANCIENT EGYPT Spring and Summer Terms, Wednesdays, fortnightly 10.20 - 11.25 Looking at the history of this ancient civilisation. ARCHITECTURAL HISTORY A Thursdays 11.30 - 12.35 Lectures are based on Peter's own slide collection, built up over 40 years. He will discuss 20th century buildings in Britain and Europe. ARCHITECTURAL HISTORY B Autumn term, Tuesdays, fortnightly 10.20 - 12.35 History of London's architecture 1630 to 2009, from the Great Fire to the not so great Dome. ARCHITECTURAL HISTORY C Summer Term, Tuesdays, fortnightly 10.20 - 12.35 UndergrounD - A potpourri. Not just for enthusiasts - but be warned, occasionally there will be pictures of trains! ARMCHAIR TRAVEL DISCUSSION GROUP Mondays, monthly 11.40 - 12.45 Exchange information on holidays you have enjoyed and identify places you wish to visit. ART APPRECIATION A Tuesdays, fortnightly 11.30 - 12.35 Treasures from the London galleries. Looking at more of London's wonderful collection of paintings. ART APPRECIATION B Mondays, fortnightly 14.00 - 15.05 What makes you happy? Looking at pictures, Architecture, tapestries or porcelain? Going to exhibitions? Find out more about the Arts. ART HISTORY - MUSEUM VISITS) Fridays, fortnightly Ten visits to Art Museums and Galleries - large and small - in London. ART: LOOKING AT PICTURES Autumn Term, Tuesdays, fortnightly 11.30 - 12.35 We will look at many beautiful and perhaps unfamiliar images from the fine, decorative and graphic arts. ART ON A LIGHT BITE Second Thursday of each month This group encourages members to meet and explore works of art individually. We usually meet inside the main door of the gallery and discuss the exhibition over refreshments. ART (Practical) A Wednesdays 10.15 - 12.35 Drawing - painting. You may be in danger of improving! ART (Practical) B Thursdays 10.00 - 12.35 Mainly water colour painting, also portrait sketching. ART (Practical) C Fridays 10.00 - 12.30 A traditional introduction to drawing and painting in various media ART (Practical) D Tuesdays 10.00 - 12.30 Anything goes! Have a go at working in mixed media - charcoal, gouache, water colour, acrylics and even collage. BRIDGE-ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS Step 1 Thursdays 13.50 - 16.05 and Step2 Mondays, 11..40 - 13.35 Step 1 is the first year of a basic Acol course, suitable for those who have never played Bridge. Step 2 is a continuation of Year 1. BRIDGE WITH SANDRA Wednesdays 10.00 - 11.30 For beginners but not absolute beginners. If you know your hearts from your clubs, come and play supervised bridge. BRIDGE - LOWER INTERMEDIATE Wednesdays 13.50 - 16.05 The class is aimed at those with about one year's experience and a basic understanding of Acol. BRIDGE - INTERNEDIATE Thursdays 11.30 - 13.30 A basic knowledge of Acol is required with about two years' experience of bridge. BRIDGE - ADVANCED INTERMEDIATE Tuesdays 13.50 - 16.05 This is a class for members who can play a reasonable game using Acol. We will have Duplicate, Chicago and Teams sessions. BRIDGE -DUPLICATE Mondays 14.00 - 16.15 Come and play a friendly unsupervised Duplicate game. Reasonable standard required. |
